T is for Trees
A favourite subject for both digitised and freemotion embroidery. When recreating "Sycamore Gap", I traced the trunk, scanned it into the computer, added a running stitch around the trunk and branches, and pulled the stitches out creating the finer branches, always referring to the original photograph, the file is then sent to the embroidery machine electronically and the design is stitched out - the finished bag can be seen below. This enables me to use the design again and resize it depending on what is required. I also like the freedom of freemotion embroidering trees to fit the overall design.
